"Candy and Carousels" full leo

This is one of those costumes where I just let my intuition run free. I always do my best work when I can get into this space! I started with that teal stripe that I created and went into fearless directions with the colors and details. I've purchased 100 year old costumes for the sole purpose of seeing them up close and see how they've weathered. Metallics bleeds dark, seams hold colors true while sun fades the fabrics, and sweat yellows the whites. Almost every part of this costume is hand dyed, painted, and treated in some way. Hope it whirls you away to other times and places.
 
One piece costume. Upper is fully-lined in heavy powernet for support and structure.
Bottoms are high waisted and slightly cheeky coverage.
Bottoms are lined. Panels are airbrushed and hand painted.
All details and ribbons are hand dyed and painted.
Stretch velvet, pearlized mystique spandex, and stretch sequin. All trims and ruffles are stretch.
Straps are handmade and can be worn crossed or straight in back.
Crystal embellishments throughout.
Washing instruction: hand wash cool water, roll in towel, hang to dry.
