"Cirque du Taj"

This whimsical aerial costume was inspired by the center jewel, plundered from a vintage sari. I love these odd color combinations. Growing up with a Japanese mom, I was always taught to choose opposite colors. She would explain to me how to combine the perfect obi for a kimono. "Never match. Always opposite color." She would say. I find that saris have the same color philosophy which is why I'm so drawn to them.
 
Stretch velvet, hand dyed striped spandex, antiqued metallic appliques, handpainted appliqués, crystal embellishments throughout. 
The costume is painted and aged.
The bust is fully-backed with heavy weight powernet for shape and support. Full coverage, vintage cut booty.
Washing instruction: hand wash cool water, roll in towel, hang to dry
