"Memory Keeper"
Ok, this is the inspo pic that most of you voted for when I asked!
When I came across this on Pinterest, it really grabbed me. I love the warm, handcrafted and ecclectic feel of it. It reminds me of something my mother would've lovingly stitched. I loved the challenge of creating that dimensional eye and tearing into an old pillow for the stuffing. The quilting technique I use is called "Trapunto". I've always wanted to try it in a costume. ALSO, that velvet stripe! I had this fabric when I first started my biz and have been trying to track it down for years!
- This is a one-piece leotard. Upper is drafted from a vintage bra pattern. Bottom part of costume has full-coverage.
- Lace appliqué is painted to look like tarnished, brassy gold. "Sequin" lines are actually heat set so they won't come off and lay flat. Crystal embellishment and handpainted distressing throughout.
- Stretch velvet, stretch sequin, upper bust is fully-lined with heavy powernet for shaping and support.
- Corset ties are stretch.
- Washing instruction: hand wash cool water, roll in towel, hang to dry
