"That Fateful Day”

Aerial dance costume inspired by that incredible textile art by Louise Richardson. Wanted to create something hauntingly beautiful using total intuision. I let my hands and heart guide me on this one and that's where I do my best. I used so many techniques on this one, adding texture layer by layer. I love the feeling the birds are connected by the "wire" as if they're struggling and helping one another. I dunno...that's just what I see.  
 
Hand-dyed and painted powernet over nude spandex. Applique birds and crystal embellishments.
Costume is fully-lined.
Princess seamed leotard for nice shaping and support. Straps are adjustable. 
Washing instruction: hand wash cool water, roll in towel, hang to dry

S: bust 32-37" waist 25-30" hip 32-37" girth 58-60"
fits my small form nicely: bust 35 waist 26 hip 35 girth 58"
 
M: bust 36-41" waist 28-33" hip 36-41" girth 61-63"
